Frequently Asked Questions
1. Are container homes durable enough for long-term living?
Yes, our container homes are built using ISO standard shipping containers made of Corten steel, which is extremely resistant to corrosion and structural fatigue. With proper maintenance, these homes can last over 50 years.
2. How is the insulation handled for extreme weather?
We use 100mm high-density rock wool insulation in both walls and ceilings. This, combined with double-glazed aluminum windows, ensures excellent thermal performance in both hot summers and cold winters.
3. Do I need a special foundation for this home?
Container homes require a level foundation. Depending on your site, you can use concrete piers, a slab foundation, or a strip foundation. We provide the structural weight details to help your local contractor prepare the site.
4. Can the layout be customized?
While the base structure relies on 20ft and 40ft units, the internal configuration is highly flexible. Walls can be placed or removed to create open-plan living areas or multiple private bedrooms as shown in our floor plans.
5. Are the electrical and plumbing systems pre-installed?
Yes, all internal plumbing (water supply/drainage) and electrical systems (cabling, sockets, LED lights, distribution box) are pre-installed at the factory, making on-site setup much faster.
6. Is the metal exterior treated against rust?
Absolutely. We use 28mm anti-corrosive metal external cladding over the original container steel, which is also treated with asphalt on the bottom to ensure long-term moisture and corrosion resistance.
